I was curious, as opposed to a calm(er) day, what does it make you do differently? Do you throw moving baits more because it is windier? Just curious what adjustments people make based on on the wind. Thx

If it's windy I'll usually be throwing a Spinnerbait.

Hit your good areas. Cast into the wind if possible with moving baits. Then follow up with soft plastics with a weight heavy enough to feel the bottom and keep a tight line to feel the bite.

Wind is a good thing. Fish activity is normally better with some wind action.
Counting on certain conditions to always fish the same is not a good habit to get in to though.

On any given day a good approach is to concentrate your efforts on "QUICKLY" eleminating unproductive water.

I love windy days.
I target wind blown points, and hit it shallow with a 1.5, follow up with a 2.5 on the deeper end and then move to a C-rig senko.

Fish in it all you can; but the older you get the more we hunt semi calm water.
I'm not as mad at them as I once was. Once upon a time I would thank nothing about fishing out in the waves with the bilge pumps running.

JMO, but if the wind is above 15mph...I usually don't go....my rig (18') and my lack of 'boating skills'....no,,not fun so I stay home. Otherwise, going to be a rough/wet ride...
God Bless

The wind used to completely ruin my days. I'd bitch about the boat, not being able to cast, couldn't feel the bites, everything. I HATED the wind.

Learning to fish a heavy C rig really helped me come around. Find some techniques you can use and CAST effectively in the wind and wind fishing gets much easier.

Then you can move on to the real fun part, boat control.
