Me and a couple of my buddies decided to camp at Tawakoni this last weekend. We banked it for the most part due to the hurricane that blew through there Saturday. We fished a point facing south with the winds at our back. Bait was in the water from sunrise till about 8pm. Baits were shad, chicken breast, and a little bit of carp we caught later on in the day. Shad was easy to come by at the boat ramp.
The morning started off pretty quick with a 10, and a few smaller keepers, and a tough fighting striper! By 10am the bite died....and things got real slow...
A few hours later, with no fish showing interest, my fishing partners took a liitle snooze. Fortunately for me thats when the big fish swam through. After a good fight and some hootin' and hollerin'...we had a 44 on the bank! A new pb for me.
After that fish, it got slow again. We managed about 10 fish for the day.
