I was hoping to take my 5 y/o son out tomorrow afternoon and would appreciate any recent information that y'all have to offer. I can usually find them, but I would prefer to have a good starting point since they get bored so quick.

The Sabine River will be red hot in a couple of months.

Lake Fork has some excellent white bass fishing and you just might catch a giant largemouth for a bonus.

Fish are there in January most years maybe not in crazy numbers. But that is by far the most fantastic big fish run in Texas I can catch a lot more per day on almost any other creek or river fish but there are some big ones in there. Had a fly fishing group of guys there a few years ago I think every person in the group caught their personal best!
