It is a beautiful day today. It is a little cool, but the wind is low. I have been reflecting on fishing days just like this after a front has passed. Many times I have got home after a day like this and decided to never fish after a strong front again. Hope someone gives a good report for today. I am some what pessimistic though.

Don, I'm about to tee off at the Tribute on Lake Lewisville. Going for birdies instead of sandies.

Heard two reports of catching hybrids/sandies today on Hubbard thru the kayak guys. So hopefully tomorrow will be even better when we get out there smile

Birds were diving as you come out of hidden cove on the left. I stopped and picked a few undersized Hybrid and a bunch of sandies. It was around 5:00 pm Sunday. The bite was slow all day over around the corner from the twin poles. I did manage to limit on Hybrids and sandies but it took me all day. Fish were in 35 FOW, caught on slabs and flukes. Caught two hybrids deadsticking and one hit the fly above my slab. I hope this helps.
Sorry no pics, unless someone wants to post them. I can txt them.

Yes Ron, I went back to the dark side. I started off crappie fishing but someone left my hybrid rod in the boat and I couldn't resist.

Good catching were going on on Hubbard ALL day yesterday (Monday), Don, by Twin and crew . While I was working of course. Doh! Another fishing theory out da window, puts to rest. You just gotta go fish when you can grin

Don, I haven't experienced the problem you mention. I find shallow structures in protected water that normally hold white bass and usually am able to still find fish there, and they still take a Mepps. I haven't tried slabs in so long, I don't have a clue if they would work under the circumstances. Dennis

I have also been bit by the crappie bug like Oceanblue but we had started seeing some great looking hybrid/white bass graphs while fishing deep water brush piles so we brought along the hybrid rods sunday. After realizing the crappie bite was going to be slow we decided to change gears and check some winter time spots and they were loaded. Three times we left non-stop action to try and find bigger fish. Even had fish busting little shad on top at every stop. Left them biting when we knocked off. Not sure how many we caught but it was a bunch. Weather was amazing. Had to use the trolling motor to get a decent drift speed on account of no wind. Don't know unless you go.

@Atm97...awesome screen shot!! Loved it. We ran into schools of white bass at Ray Roberts while crappie fishing. I always carry my hybrid/sandie rods in the boat while I'm addicted to the dark side. I've noticed crappies started to slow down and now time to chase hybrid/sandie!!
