Yea the cable that goes to the lower unit snapped. I took it apart, figured it was toast. Was going to take it to someone who knows more about them than me. But it looks like its toast to me.

Is it a wire or the steering cable? Either one should be pretty cheap to fix as compared to buying a new one.

What trolling motor is it. Steering cables range in cost from $30.00 to $40.00 per set (for a dual cable system) up to around $50.00 for some single cable systems. Most single cables are around $40.00. Installation isn't a hard job.
