Easy, inexpensive solution...get a box of latex hospital exam gloves that fit fairly snug, not loose or tight. Cut the ends off the thumb and forefinger. Amazingly warm and totally dry. Excellent grip also.

when it gets really cold I use the Black Nitrile mechanics gloves under my Simms windproof fingerless gloves. The Nitrile gloves work really well. The Mechanics gloves are thicker than the latex version you see at the docs office

Buy some wool gloves this year going too give them a try. And to try the Nitrile gloves sound like a good idea.
