Fshng84, Thanks for the posting. Have been looking forward to it. By any chance, you also know TRWD schedule for trout stocking? During past years, I know one event is in December and the other in January. I tried to google for exact dates for the coming season, but did not find it.

Thanks banker=always fishing. As a warm up to the upcoming Season, fished the Blue River in Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon! Had a great time; limited out with six Rainbow Trout. Caught and released a lot more! Tuesday's Video

Stocking today at Mary Jo Peckham park in old Katy, trying to find out a time, but no luck on that part yet. Gotta get outta the house, to many women here, the son and I just gotta get away.

Tried mesquite for awhile this afternoon with about 5 other folks. Can anyone confirm that they actually put the trout in there?  caught a little crappie though
There are no fish in sonic pond EDIT: Except 1 20lb catfish

Can anyone confirm that they actually put the trout in there? caught a little crappie though Unless I am reading the TPWD post wrong, they are stocking in Mesquite on 11/25, 12/23, 1/22 and 2/19. If that is indeed the case, I wouldn't be shocked if the trout they stocked the middle of last week were pretty hard to catch/no longer there right now.

Can anyone confirm that they actually put the trout in there? caught a little crappie though Went to Southlakes park pond today and didn't get a single strike. A few bait fishermen also got skunked. Same thin happened to me in hurst the day of the stocking. I've almost given up on these neighborhood fishing ponds. No clue why I can't catch anything in them when they should be holding fish...

Didn't expect gangbusters but didn't expect a couple hours of several people bait chunkin to not get a nibble either  At least there were lots of ducks around to watch and listen to, and I only caught 1 tree with the fly rod

That was kind of the genesis of my original question. There were no signs of trout, or of people catching any.
No smooshed powerbait everywhere
No trash
No surface activity whatsoever
No single dead trout floating along the bank somewhere
No one got a bite
There were about 50 comorants on the pond though. Not sure if they could decimate 7-800 trout in a couple of days, I watched a couple dive several times and either came up empty handed or gulped it down before they got to the surface.

Have not had much success there; several years ago I fished it. Saw one other guy hook one; had one nibble else struck out.
Back then the place had Cormorant everywhere. Sounds like they still do. Once they show up, not many Trout get caught afterwards.
