It looks like they are reducing the amount of water they are letting out of Lake Whitney on the Brazos. It gave the Brazos a good flushing. It will be good to get the Kayak back on the river and fish!

7,000 CFS is still a lot of water though. Like you said, it'll be a good flushing, and hopefully get all that moss out of that stretch.

Was hoping to get back down there Wednesday if they shut it off by then. If not I guess I will hit another stretch.

This morning it looked like the flow was reduced but only dropped the river a few feet still letting water out. I'm keeping my eye on it several times I day. I want to get back down there and do some fishing!

A bunch of us plan on being there this Saturday and Sunday. Praying that they reduce the flow.

Jerry, it looks like your prayers are being answered. They are slowly reducing the flow. I bet by the weekend it will be back to it's normal 4 or 5 feet and the fish will be happy and hungry! Might see you on the river this weekend!

We'll be there. We're camping about 2 miles below Dicks.

The gate to Riverside Park was locked on Sat, so not sure if too many people did that section. We (me, my son Dan and Shane) found a way to put in and had a good day on the river until about 2:30 when we were on our way back to the dam about two miles down river, and they started releasing. We hustled back but got caught in about 4,000 CFS. We had to paddle our a$$es off to get back to the take out, working the eddies where possible. My shoulders and hips were a little sore the next day from fighting the flow, but it was still fun day on the river. Good fish caught by Dan and Shane. I had a so-so day myself. Here is a video of Dan releasing one of his bass that day...

It was great. We had about 18 folks show up on Saturday and fish until it started raining pretty hard. A few of us stayed until Sunday morning and spent a few additional hours on the river before packing up and heading home. The fishing was so-so but it beat working!
