Got out Saturday afternoon for a couple hours. Water temp was down to 64 and the fish that have been out on the main lake points were back deeper in the creeks on the secondary points for me in 10 FOW or less. I have been catching them pretty good flipping jigs and shakey heads and on square bills and spinner baits with a lot of small ones mixed in. The moving baits were out Saturday, they just wouldn't chase them for me so I went to flipping and pitching. It seems the small every pitch fish have gone somewhere or are not biting but the bigger spots are still there AND the stupid drum! I caught several really nice spots up to 4lbs. and three nasty drum on the same shakey head. We have caught drum out there the last two or three trips and have never in 20 years fishing there really caught them to speak of before. I don't know what changed if it is the muscles or what but they are definitely in the same areas as the bass and are eating the same lures. Rocky points with deep water close by was still the ticket for me this trip.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

The floods had to do something with the drum . Never caught them in years and now catch a few every trip

Here is one of the Spots. Not a great pic since I was by myself but they are really fat right now.

That is my guess. I should have used a scale and took a photo of the whole fish on the scale and then on a measuring board so that all of the charts could be posted to either prove or disprove my guess. Just trying to be friendly and point others who might want to get out while the fishing is good in the right direction. I have been fishing a long time and have a pretty good idea what fish weigh but having said that, I am a fisherman and probably do exaggerate at times. I think one of the spots I caught was very close to if not over 4 lbs and the others were like the one in the picture, just good solid fat fish.

I think he was more so saying you could have a lake record, which would be pretty cool.

My apologies if that was the intention, that would be really cool to have a lake record! Guess I will weigh the big ones next time.
