Here again, I got on the water late, but found a bite pretty quick. Smaller fish to begin with, so I left them biting in search for some better quality fish. On our second stop in this search, I put us on some two pound fish. They were spread out on the edge of a hump in 18 to 21 feet. Pretty slow bite, but I suppose it was better than what we were catching. Picked up again and high tailed back to the area were I caught some nice fish on a top water bait Tuesday. Picked up some real nice fish on the top water baits. This made the trip worth while.

Five hours on the water and we boated 31 bass. Not the quality fish like Tuesday, but we did mange to put a hand full of three pound fish and just a few fours in the boat. Not the day I had pictured in my head, but every trip cant always be a great one. Oh well, maybe Ill find a better bite next trip.
Lot of boats on the water today. I hope someone else was able to dial in on a good chew.

Man wished I had caught up with ya. I had a bad hookset day for myself. Caught some decent fish but lost a few.

Was out there with my wife Saturday as well, late also, maybe on the water by 11:30 and off before 5.... All our fish were shallow 6' or less biggest about 5 lbs, very few small fish. My wife even had a Monster bluegill about a pound to pond and a half on a beetlespin. Most of our fish came in the back of coves/creeks fish following the bait back there and there was alot.... Pulled 15 out of one back pocket they were gorging on shad the wind was blowing into....Ended the day with 26

My worst day on the lake is better than my best day at the office.

Kinda new to TFF but was going to take a trip to Fayette this Friday. Any help with what colors to use and locations would be greatly appreciated.

Marty, it's a small lake, all you have to do is kind a watch what the other guys are doing and follow suit. Almost like fishing an over size stock tank. Lots of fish and very easy to catch. I like to throw red shad color plastic myself. Try all the points and outside area of timber. They seem to be hanging outside more so than inside, or for me anways. The timber bite has been one here and one there thing, but it may have changed by now. It'sa searching game for me just like everyone else. Run and gun till find a bite. When you find a bite, slow way down, you should get several in that area.

Last Saturday (14th)seemed to be a good day on Fayette.
My boys caught over 40 fish.
Mainly off major points, not so much back up in coves or the trees.
Spinner baits, top waters, crank baits and plastic.

Yepper, the chew on this lake is in high gear. I too have found a better bite on points and humps. Not a lot going on in the timber area for me, one here and there. Best bite has been in anything from three feet, to 22 feet, depending on time of day, plus sunny or cloudy day.
Changing the subject right quick like, but Bastrop is fishing very good as we speak. Some good info to pass on to anglers looking for some fun.

Well I ended up going today (Thursday) instead of Friday. You guys were right fish were on main lake points and rip rap. Caught 20 on crank baits and a couple on topwater. No wind and clear blue skies kind of made for a short trip, fish seemed to quit biting for me around 1. biggest was 4 lbs the rest around 2lbs. Highlight was catching a 2 1/2 pound Talipia on crank bait. Thanks again for the help.
