ps. I have plenty of storage/cpmpartments where a partner can put his keys etc in. You don't need to buy a whole console for that.

Quit leaning. A dual console just gets in the way for you and your passenger. upgrade the manueverability of your fishing machine.

I have an 18ft dual console. My next boat will be a single for sure. More manueverability and space is essential.

This is pretty much how I see it as well. Plus I like the glove compartment in that second console for my phone, keys, wallet, etc.

Same here.

Ken,
If the better half is gonna be fishing with you, no matter how little. You better have a second one, you can take them out and put it back in minutes for about an extra 600 bucks. Justsay'n

It will protect your co-angler from wind/rain on a long runs during the winter. They would be thankful for it.

you must not run over 50 mph if you are saying console and no console is same.

actually you are mostly right...I have a new Z520C w/250 Pro XS on it and she'll do 72mph if I let her...and most of the time I use the Opti-Max fuel savings by keeping it under 4k rpm, I fish a lot and this saves me a ton of money...and when it's real cold or raining I dam sure ain't WOT to often, first because that is miserable and second with cold and rain there is usually a good wind and adding a little pounding to pelting rain and real cold air ain't for me when I'm just fun fishing... competing in a little derby changes things a little - if your my co angler better get ready to be miserable...cause we gone....LOL, and having fished on the no boat side in draw derby's in all kinds of weather i can still say I would rather have the extra room to move around especially since if it's cold and raining I'm going to be dresses like the stay-puff man and getting in and out from behind a console with my derby bag and rods all stuffed in there is a hassle especially if the boat is less than 19 foot ! - I've been running around in bass boats for 30 some years now, and in just about every brand on the market and I'd be a fool to say a console does not make a differance, just not enough difference to me to take up that much space...cause as I said before I fish mostly alone...

I'm of the opinion the advantages of the duals far outweigh the negligible disadvantages. They look better and you improve the ride of any passengers immeasurably. Personally I can not think of a single time where I thought, "gee this second console is a real burden, I wish it weren't here." However, if you've ridden shotgun in a single console in anything but pristine weather I can guarantee you've thought, "gee it sure would be nice if there was a second console."

Well my mind was made up for me by my bigmouth. Instead of just bringing a new boat home my big mouth told my wife I was buying a new boat. She replied that it was totally okay with her but it better have a dual console.

Removable console is the only way to go, I really like my boat without the second console but will put it in when the weather is cold and raining.

My Skeeter ZX-190 came new with single console. The second console sat in my garage, in the box,for a month. After the 2nd time of wife flying across the lake(and tasting bugs), I went back to dealership and had 2nd console installed. Do I miss the extra space? Not really. I just have to be a bit more careful putting rods in storage.
