I am headed to Lake Whitney this weekend for Striper. Two weekends ago I did not even get a hit. Has anyone fished here lately to give some suggestions?

Usually fish RC but been fishing Whitney for the past few weeks. I would concentrate on the South side of the lake. Look for points, dropoffs and humps in the 18-30 ft range. The stripers have been moving around and some large schools are full of stripers and sandies. I would have a 5 in swimbait along with a slab with a fly 18 in or so above it. Use your electronics and move from point to point. If you see them suspended throw the swimbait. If the are stacked on the bottom drop the slab or throw it out with a reel and drop retrieve. We are throwing the 18-20 inch fish back and targeting the 22-28 in fish. If you work for them the bigger ones are there. If you are going to fish later in the day find a flat near deep water and throw a big topwater. Got some good blowups yesterday. Have found some schooling fish but they dont stay up long. Ease into them with your trolling motor and throw the sassy. If they move look on your side imaging (if you have it) and look real slow. Just fyi when looking on the points I am normally in side imaging mode not 2D. Hope this helps. Just fyi I will be out with a buddy on Sat. If you see a red pro team 175 say hi.

Thank you very much. I will give these suggestions a try. I have been using a fly with the slab but not 18 " apart. I have been using swim bait too but not 5 inch. I will make these changes and see what happens. Thanks
