Yamaha tilt & trim help after lower cylinder build. I rebuilt both lower cylinders because caps had backed off. Now I can not get unit to pump, system was working, motor & pump. The fluid looked to be contaminated. I have tried every thing I know or find to bleed air & fluid out. Using Yamaha fluid. Took boat to our shop & used motor lift to raise & lower motor. after 4 hours still no lift. I did get the lower rams to pump up, but big ram will not lift motor. Talked to dealer they could o/h unit BUT no guaranty. Where do I go from here. I can o/h the complete unit no big dell. R & I does not look to be hard. But the price of Yamaha parts OMG. OK what say u all. I really need some expert help. Thanks

Saw several videos on YouTube that related to a Yamaha outboard tilt/trim. Might want to check there.

I rebuilt one of mine last year, and the hardest part was purging/bleeding the system. I don't want to know how many times I had to lift the motor up, add fluid, tighten/loosen the screw and do it all again.

Sounds like the manual release is still backed off,

Gary, I have open & closed the valve many times, but a good thought. I am thinking about taking the unit off the motor & going through it. a pump assembly is 350 bucks. Any other suggestion?

Some Yamaha manual release valves are left handed threads. I ran into this on a 90hp. Just happened to look at area where valve was located and saw the close arrow going counter clockwise. Easy to cut an "O"ring on a thread bur when assembling. Good Luck
