If you have any up to date advice to share please do. Lure / lure color / depth that are working for you now. Thanks for any input. We're going try to hunt down a few blacks and take a break from these spots.

My wife and I are at Falcon now. We have been here for a week. Fishing is great for numbers, but the larger fish are hard to come by. We are catching them on rocky points{surprise} on anything plastic.Any old worms that you need to get rid of will work. My best has been fire and ice and blue fleck. My wife is catching her fish on a drop shot with tomato finesse worms. I am throwing a Texas rig with a 3/16th oz weight. Good luck

Hey Rick. Glad to hear that you're back on the water! I've been reading reports of really big numbers at Falcon lately, but the big girls have disappeared. I hope we get to fish with you down there again soon. Say "hey" to Charlotte for me. Tom G.

I just got back from a week down there. Go see James at Falcon Lake Tackle in Zapata he will point you in the right direction and make sure you get the baits they are biting now. The fish aren't on every rocky point or hump, but when you find them its game on, I caught countless 1 to 2 pounders primarily on C-rigged yum dingers W/M red. My bigger fish upto 5 pounds came on deep diver bomber square bill and big spinner bait, Dont't forget to throw a Plum Ole Monster when they slow down on the C-rig. Goog luck....lots of tough little fun fish being caught. However, a guy staying next to me caught an 8 pounder last Saturday in a club tournament, so you never know when the big bite might come. It was his only keeper and won BB.

Thank you one and all for the info.. Sounds like a red fest down there. It was very nice of you to respond. I'm going down next week with my buddy trying to hook'em up and drop'em back in for the next angler. You don't take the hole home when you play golf. It's all about the bite. Just saying.

Just got back from a weekend trip. I fished 5.5 hours each day at boated 50 fish total. Big fish of the weekend was 6.01 caught in 5 feet of water. It won't be long before the big girl start showing up in numbers. January is my favorite month

Thanks for your input Jobie99. I'm taking note of the 5 foot water comment. Glad you did well. The color seems to be red/blue green/red or red now as stated by others. I have done well with craw and watermelon/red in the past when at Falcon. The bass fight very hard at Falcon for some reason which makes it a rush when getting a bite. It requires good strong line at that lake. Hope you get to go back soon. A friend has invited me to go with him so we will be leaving soon. Thanks again.

Watermelon red worked this weekend. I also caught fish on spinnerbaits and a bandit 200 series crankbait

Thank you Jobie99 for the w/r info above. We are headed to lAKE Falcon in the AM and will be there in the PM. Long drive from my home. That blur on the highway coming by your Jobie99 location will be us. I have my red baits tied on and ready to go. It looks a lot like christmas with all that everything red baits hanging on my six rods leaning against the boat. Gone down South again to play with the pescados useing help from Jobie99, Bigron 119,Legend08,forkduc and Rick Collis. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL.

I was there last weekend and did ok. Most fish came on wat/red Tiki Bamboo Sticks fishing 1-12 ft in the bushy stuff. Rocks seemed to help the cause. We also caught fish on square bills in shad and bream colors. My best advice to you is to take a set of shears along to cut the branches off of the bushes where your lure gets snagged, believe me you do not want to reach into those bushes, they are mean.
