I've fished all my life since 6 years old. I'm now 57. I caught all kinds of fish from freshwater to the salt. Tournament fished for the green ditch pickle while in my 30s & 40s. I now find myself fishing for crappie 95% of the time and reading about crappie 99% of the time when I'm not able to fish. I look at this forum 20+ times a day. Have a bunch of baits. Look at more, look at rods since I don't have a name brand crappie rod. I read everyone's reports from here on TFF and to Tennessee. I think I could catch a crappie in a tow sack! NOT!! I use fingernail polish I paid $1 for to paint my jog heads. I may upgrade to a better polish, I want it brighter. Maybe they make a neon pink color from a better supplier. I'm going to some garage sales this weekend. They advertised they had some fishing stuff. I may find a bargain!!

You need to get one jig head mold, a few hooks, some chenille and marabou and a few more colors of that finger nail polish, and you'll be so far gone they'll never pull you back.

I've got a confession.

For some time now I've lived in denial. I find myself not being able to sleep late and tend to wake up early in the a.m. Many times I find myself driving and driving for long periods of time.

This gives me time to reflect and strongly consider that I may have a problem. As I think it through in full denial I reach the boat ramp and the addiction is proven to be real!

You don't know how happy I am to read this!!! I recently started Crappie fishing and I cannot get it out of my head... I even bought jig tying gear and tie jigs while I am at work. I get angry and or depressed if I cannot go fishing for Crappie even on days when I have fished for bass during my lunch break. I don't want help though, I want the THUMP!!!!

There is a name for your affliction! It's called MCD, or Mad Crappie Disease! There are many many of us who have fallen victim to this heartless virus! There is no known cure, only treatments for the symptoms. Sounds like you got it bad!
