The last time I took my family fishing it was very relaxing wink we didn't catch any fish... Saw lots of bait fish and fish jumping on water surface....

Took my family fishing again this afternoon, this time I was prepared... live gizzard shad caught the first fish keeper striper in 4 fow... whole gizzard live but cut to bleed and threaded on 7/0 octopus hook in 6-8 fow caught good fish, a fat hybrid, 4 blue catfish up to 7 lb.... not bad for 3 hours of fishing, everyone caught fish the weather was a cool 70 degree... Very pleasant until wind stop and mosquitoes were out shortly after sunset, and we packed up and headed to pizza Hut on our way home.

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

I bet it was a nice evening to be out-
Glad to see you were able to get the family out-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Thanks everyone for your kind words, we had fun and the bonus is to bring home some fish for dinner or two banana

Talking about dinner, I was supposed to scale and gut the hybrid but got poured on...So I'm grilling the fish whole tonight. It's the EASIEST way to cook a big fish. Lol, ...I know it doesn't look too appealing but once cooked the guts can be scoop out cleanly,... with fresh lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and fish sauce or sweet tamarind sauce. ... You can't get healthier than that for dinner azn food

oh man, that was my first time grilling a hybrid without removing scale and guts... we almost throw away the fish, the belly oil melt the fish organs to mud, but luckily there were no bad odors at all... chopped the stomach part out, what's left was succulent sweet meet that just fall off the bone. I'll definitely leave the scales on next time, but will remove the guts before putting the fish on the grill. smile

You can freeze um whole the scales prevent freezer burns. Had a friend that never cleaned a Crappie till it was time to eat it

+1, similar reason for grilling whole with scales, scales prevents burning of fish's meat and seals flavor of fish...
