 Perch and Cats at Calaveras

My fishing buddy and I went to Cal today to try and catch some perch. We ended up with a nice mix of both perch and channel cats. Sunfish were a mix of copper nose bluegill and bluegill/redear hybrids. Up to 9 inches. Catfish up to 4 pounds. All caught on worms in 12 to 15 feet of water using a drop shot on light spinning tackle. Beautiful overcast day on the lake. Water temp 75F. Special thanks to Banker and USMC for help on Cal.

Nice haul Doc! Good job guys.  Side Note: Seems that hot water lakes like Cally turn on during the fall/winter time. I have always caught my bigger sunfish off of that lake during the winter.

Thanks for all the comments guys !  My sister, son, and I went back to Cal today and did pretty much of a repeat of last week on bluegill and cats. It was on the verge of raining all morning but never did. Great day for fishing. My sister caught this fabulous bluegill today. One of most beautiful specimens I've ever seen.
