Shimano Made the first ones, sold to Browning, they sold to Zebco.
None of them work on original .
Had 5 loved them.
Any opinion on the new ones, compared to Shimano ??

IMO Shimano is better! Better backlash control. I have both.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

I have about 20 of the new Lews reels, baitcaster and spinning. They are awesome, you won't be disappointed:)

I have been using the Tournament Pro models for about 2 years now and love them. They are light, smooth, cast a mile and hold up great.
I haven't had any problems yet.
You can find the Tournament Pro's on ebay new for less than $140 with free shipping.

The Tournament Pro is one of the best reels around for the money, in my opinion. I have cheaper reels that perform like cheaper reels, and I have more expensive reels that do not perform that much better than the Tournament Pro. It's just a solid reel.

I still own 10 of the original designs made by Ryobi / Browning and 2 that Zebco built.

Best reels ever made to me.
I tried a couple of the new ones..........they're ok but they won't last twenty years like some of these have.

Like Guy said:

"I got an ol' pair of boots and they fit just right,
Well, I can work all day and I can dance all night.
I got an ol' used car and it runs just like a top,
I get the feelin it aint ever gonna stop.

Stuff that works, stuff that holds up
The kind of stuff you dont hang on the wall."

"..The pleasantist angling is to see the fish
Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

I like the BB1, BB1 Pro and the Super Duty reels better than the Tournament Pro.
