The other day myself and Mike "USMC-GY" fished the Hill Country and the bite was good. We fished from 9am till 2pm and caught around 50 nice sunnies including a nice Channel Cat and several nice bass. The sunfish were Bluegill,Redear,and Redbreast. Most of the Sunfish were in the 7 to 8 inch range with several going into the 9 inch range. All were healthy and fat. The Channel Cat was approx 4 lbs. The water was cloudy due to recent rains. Fish were caught in 3 to 5 feet of water holding close to grass beds. Worms was the bait of choice. Float and bottom techniques were both used. All fish were released to fight again. After a day of good fishing we had a great lunch at the local Dairy Queen. A good day of fishing in the Texas Hill Country. It just don't get any better.

Side Note: That Belt Buster Combo is hard to beat!

When I was a kid, DQ sold soft ice cream in a cone and would dunk it in chocolate if you ordered it that way. Was good stuff. Guess it was too much trouble to make it and keep the machine they made it in cleaned, or something. Is a shame they don't still have it.

Side Note: Canyon Lake is still a foot over. Do you think the trout bite on the Guadalupe will be effected?

I have heard the trout stockings on the Guadalupe will go as scheduled. Also I totally agree about next years spring/summer providing no major flooding.
