My tool bag from my last boat ended up getting wet and rusted all of my tools so I'm in the market for a new one. I'm looking for recommendations on any ready made kits or extra items that y'all carry on the boat.

I have a complete tool kit that I think I bought at Lowes years ago, folds in half has a full set of sockets pliers, needlenose, etc about $25. I also have a very GOOd pair of diagonal cutters, I keep them oiled and in a ziplock to prevent rust in case I need to cut a hook. And I have my trailer spare bulbs, and correct socket that will fit on my trailer wheels..and a flashlight.

I carry: - a small socket set
- adjustable wrench
- several common sized open end wrenches
- normal and stubby #2 phillips screwdrivers
- flatblade screwdriver
- roll of electrical tape
- breaker bar with socket for prop
- silicone spray
I figure that would get me through most minor OTW repairs. Yesterday I had to adjust my shift cable and was glad I had a small open end to get the nut off. I also carry a more extensive tool set in my truck for emergencies. If you have problems with your tools getting wet, you can pick up one of these deals and no more wet tools:

I second the water tight utilty box as a tool box. I would also add a 6 dollar fuel line splice kit in the box ...Can turn a cut fuel line into a simple temporary fix...and keep u fishing.. probably never need it, but it helped me once.......... Good Luck, KBB

I don't have much storage space. I use a smaller tupperware container with a spark plug wrench, 2 screwdrivers, pliers, knife, allen wrench for transducer bracket, spare wire, hose clamps and tape. So far have never needed more than that.

I have a multitool that has a lot of these all in one. May not cover it all but you'd be surprised at some of what these tools have all together. Could save you some space.

buy and keep a couple of extra shear pins for your T/M. costs about a buck takes no space but can save the day.
