Well last min I just couldn't take it. So hit the road Monday word is worst year in several years. I can confirm that but I'll never let that deture me:). I plugged along all day today and had a pretty decent day no hundreds number but little over halfway there. Lots of really nice cookie cutter rainbows 16-18 several browns along the way. None so far this year that are just any thing I'm accustomed too. All in all still great weather some nice fish along the way. Red a%# soft hackles,black,grey,tan,olive,and almost a rust colored scuds,sow bugs,and black buggers slow striped have been the ticket. Sad to me for those that know me the night fishing has been bad at best. Oh well at least I can fish 24 seven this trip so making up for numbers in the day light. Any way I'll post some pics upon return.

Well due to sense of adventure we are going to head to the norefork tail water. Been the slowest year I can recall still managed some great fish. Just not near the numbers as normal. Maybe I can sneak in a grand slam lol.

I think I'm the only one that could manage a sandbass in a trout stream on a sz 20 soft hackle lol

We looked at the generation scedules today and went for a change and headed for norfork. I have wanted to fish it for years really glad we moved really killed them. Water had been running three months just shut off few days ago. Caught some really nice fish. Hope we do the same tomorrow.

Well what a trip. We woke up to rain and had to twist my buddies arm to get out of the truck. There were only a handful of other anglers on the river we put on the raingear and you got at least a hit every cast and we really whacked them. Grey sow bugs followed by an olive soft shell scud both In 16. No weight with about 7 ft on the indicator and a long drag free drift and they took every time. We stayed on the lower stretch even though most of the browns and char were probably further up. It was rainbow city down there. As we headed out went thru the boxley vally we managed to see arkasas elk(bad pics to far for phone) trumpeter swans, bald eagles, wood ducks, and deer all in about a 1 mile stretch. Then the rains came as the storm was sliding across we were in maroon on the radar for about the next 7 1/2 hours some of it on the freeway doing 40 miles an hour or stopped it was raining so bad but at least we made it back and what a trip LOL.

Thanks guys really glad we made the move. it's so nice have so many world class fisheries so close together. I mean if they are generating power on the one you can get to somewhere they are not relatively quickly. Just watch the scedules even though they can change any time. I think next year I'm really going to hop around in the fall over there. Little red, norfork, beaver,white below bull shoals, and a little Taney. It's hard to find a place without stunning scenery over there in the fall. I don't know I may get bored here and head out for another couple days here in a few weeks seeing as the spawn is off scedule this year and running late.
