My cousin and I have been vising family and we make it out a few odd hours each day and late at night/early morning. We're shore fishing Cedar Creek Lake because we're at a house on he lake. There are plenty of docks sitting in about 10' of water.
We've tried a lot and got nothing. Wacky, T-rig, Drop shot worms and senkos. Little paddle tail swim baits, frogs, buzz frogs, spinners, spoons, poppers, jitterbugs. We've got Christmas colors, darks, whites, chartreuse....
Fish are jumping all around us but we aren't getting a single bite. My cousin fishes fresh water almost exclusively. I'm more of a saltwater guy. For both of us to get skunked since Friday is ridiculous though. It's very frustrating.
Any advice on things we may be doing wrong?

I suggest a smaller spinnerbait or my prepared a small square bill crankbait if you don't care about size and just wanna catch fish

Thanks guys. I will check the spillway next time. It looks like we may be taking off soon. I did try a small size 1 square crank. I think my cousin had a couple as well.

so sorry i missed this - i fish mostly from the shore at cedar creek on the SW corner and i know what you mean - fish everywhere but bite is tough - i catch two to three in my 100 yards of shoreline by switching between fast and slow lures - catching on slow plastic shad, white with blue back; fast white spinner bait with a Colorado and willow blade combo, shad colored square bill crank bait, shad colored lipless crankbait, and in the afternoons a simple mepps 3 when the shad are going crazy which is probably what you saw
too much information probably and not sure when you are coming back but the fish are here...just picky...
