Today I fished with Scott and Elloyd, from Austin, on Fayette County lake. They were camping there at the lake. I got up at 4 am, checked the weather , and told them there was too much lightening, that we would need to go another day. About 5 am I checked again, and the lightening had disappeared and only rain clouds around. I told them I would be there about an hour later than planned. I had to drive 45 mph most of the way to keep from hydroplaning on the highway.
It rained the whole trip, even while cleaning fish and all the way back home.

Lake is at full level. First two spots produced nothing, so we moved to a little deeper water. Winds were 12-14 mph as we started. Elloyd had a fish on with his first cast.
They ended the morning at 11 am with 50 nice cats, with a few going over 7#. Needless to say, they were very happy that we did not cancel the trip.

Fish caught both with cork and with tight lines, using CJ's Crawdad punch bait, in 12' water.
