A couple summers ago we had a new bulkhead put in at the lake house on lake Murvaul. Although it looked good and we spent more money than what a wood bulkhead would cost. We had problems with the contractor from day one. There was about a 15' section that had a slight bow at the header and we tried several times to get him back to fix the problem but never showed up or did a half ***** job fixing it the right way. I have always had problems in this area where the ground was sinking and we kept filling in the area with dirt. Well yesterday I got word that the bottom was pushing out. Apparently the fore feet that he was suppose to drive the piling in the ground was more like a foot or so. Now I have the privilege of trying to find some to come and fix his screw up. Trying to get legal action going on this guy is useless because he is already in trouble for doing crappy work and has liens on most of his personal stuff. We already looked into that last year. So if anyone can recommend a EXCELLENT contractor in the Carthage area that builds bulkheads please let me know. This is the composit piling and not wood.
And the contractor name is Ronny Westbrook construction and I think he lives in the Tyler/Longview area.

That is bad! I know it is very disappointing to spend money to have something done right then have problems later that cost you more money. I know you will get it done correctly this time and not have any more issues. Good Luck!

Contractors...there ought to be a ...Wall of Shame... for the ones like that. There also ought to be a Wall of Honor for the good ones.
I had one, recommended by a neighbor, come out to put a little bulkhead on my lot. I specifically told him that I needed him to quote and use galvanized lag bolts. Sure enough, I looked, after he had 1/3 of the job done, and he was using the "plated" [censored]. Had him pull them out and put the right thing in.
My neighbor, on whose lot the contractor used the "plated" [censored] on...... has rusting bolts. My galvanized still look good. They just want to get around doing it right and save ten bucks or so. Sheesh... richg
