I don't usually fish the north wind on Lewisville - Because I usually can't find the fish! I have better luck with the South or southerly wind, but today I had already decided I was going so - I went!

When I got to the ramp the wind was pretty stout out of the north and I almost cancelled my own fishing trip LOL - but I'm glad I didn't. First drop I had a keeper and second drop I had a big ole girl - close to 15 inches. The wind beat me up for 2 hours but it did not bother the fish at all. In fact if you weren't in the wind you weren't going to catch anything. I tried some protected areas but zip. The wind was so bad I could not hold my rod still. It took both hands and then I just tried to hold it as still as I could. Most of the time that's all the action that was necessary. Wind started to die down around 10:30 - finally a little relief. Off the lake by about noon. Outstanding day of fishing!

This turned out to be the best day so far, for big fish. I kept a few for a fish fry but threw back more keepers than I kept - just didn't need them. Only bad thing about today was I was by myself! It's always better when you share it with someone.

These 2 were almost 15 inches.'

Man that "old timer" had a bad hair day!

Here's a few that I kept -

Those short fish in the pic were 11 inches.

Here's Rudy from when we fished Monday -

I got to fish about 2 hours Tuesday afternoon and the fish were plentiful , then Don fished with me on Wed morning - no pics from that trip but we caught a lot of nice fish and a whole lot of short fish - were off the lake by noon.
Thursday I did not fish - only wished. Then today - well I already reported on today.

The point is that Lewisville is fishing real good right now - 6 - 17 fow. Go get some!

Robert, people make comments about my fishing adventures and about my catching skills, or lack thereof. BUT, like I told you the other day on the boat, When you fish with some of the best of the best(you, Ernest, Carey, DTA, Boston Bob, to mention a very few), even an ole rockhead like me's GOTTA LEARN SOMETHING THAT'LL STICK!

I wish i could have accepted your invite, but i was knee deep in students being tested all day today.

But i did managed to squeeze in 20 minutes before my night job and got 10 gooduns, 4 of those being REAL GOODUNS.

Way to go. Nice haul.

Rudy

Good job Robert, Ernest and I were out today as well and did good. The bite shut completely off around 1:30.
