Best I can tell we had just shy of 12" of rain here on the river over the past couple of days. It was a regulation- toad-choker.

There was some minor flooding in my immediate area, but nothing devastating. Apparently the ground was so dry that it soaked up a lot of that water. Forecast is for more rain starting later in the week, and if it's like this last rain and hits on soaked ground, well the story could be different.

I read that over around Corsicana there was 20" of rain, washed a train off the tracks. That's bad, real bad. They've had a lot of grief there.

The Brazos below Whitney rose up about three feet, milk chocolate color, and a bit of current. It's going down now, is at wadeable depth again, still muddy, and looks like it got rid (temporarily) of the moss that had been slowly taking over again. The river has been very low for a couple three months now. This will leave a layer of silt behind, so that every step you take will kick up a puff of mud.

One thing about that silt, it makes for spotting feeding carp easier. It's also good for dragging a clouser slow on the bottom as it will kick up silt and signal to fish that something's moving.

Here's hoping the next rain event isn't extreme and this one didn't hurt you.

How much rain did you get?

7.5 inches in the Dallas area.

I got 5.4 inches west of Sanger. Same story here, the ground was so dry it just sucked all the water up. I think Ray Roberts rise less than a quarter inch.

Got a total of 4.75" Northeast Metro area San Antonio. Some areas around New Braunfels got 10 plus inches.

5" last weekend (Oct 23/24/25th) then 9 more this weekend. We were fine last weekend, A little minor flooding in town. Not so this weekend for some.
I'm fine, no issues, but a friend of mine got a foot and a half in her house, and the bayou is still rising. Several roads are closed. A couple of them will probably be closed for several days.
This has been a very wet year for us. It's good to see a lot of the reservoirs getting caught up.

As much as I like the fact that we're breaking some drought and getting some water, I can't take these beautiful weekdays and rainy weekends. I need to get out to fish.

Anyone know any spots supposed to be rain-less this weekend?
