Have y'all seen the recently introduced product from Boonedox for rolling your kayaks, off your trucks/trailers, into and out of the water? It is called the Boonedox Landing Gear and it looks to be best mounted somewhere just behind the seat on most kayaks. Once you rotate the gears down, you haul your kayak, fully loaded, to the water, then once in the water and floating, you reposition the landing gears (the wheels) up and back out of the way. At the end of your fishing, you just drop them back down.

Very cool.

I could see this reducing the time and frustration getting into and out of the water.

Just Google it and there are also several installation and practical videos on YouTube.

they do look cool. But at $249? ouch...

I've seen these in action on several Kayak Bass Series competitors' rigs and they are SWEET. They add some additional mounting options for rod holders and other accessories, too. Very well made like all of Boonedox's stuff.

Yeah those look pretty dang nice! I wouldn't buy any for my yak, but maybe one day when I upgrade.

Yes! Expensive, for sure, but for whatever these various carts should sell for, this one ought to be near the top of the heap.

I think it would be so nice to be able to roll down a fully loaded kayak, lift the wheels into their up positions and take off. Then, do the reverse on the way out and pull it to your trailer or truck bed.

My issue is the width and the rather un-tapered rear on a Slayer Propel 10, already wide at 34". Boonedox makes a longer bar auxiliary kit for wider kayaks like PA 14s, and I might need that to make certain the tires clear the sides.

Anyway, lots and lots of places where this would work.

14 lbs is a lot of extra weight to haul around full time imo. I think the idea is cool I just wish they could lighten it but still maintain the strength. Plus would those wheels go over sand? Im not dodging on the product im just thinking about if it were on my kayak...

They sell sand wheels separately. Not cheap either, but that's the manufacturer, not their price. They don't make the wheels and he told me they don't make anything on them.

The weight's a legit concern, but hell I take way more than 14 lbs of unnecessary gear on every trip anyways. Still working on the Kitchen Sink Mount.

Yep! 14 lbs. is heavy but it also attests to the solid construction of this device. It is a permanent install though one could remove the wheels and store them back at the truck. It would, of course, negate its biggest advantage.

I agree: I can find 14 lbs. somewhere else to eliminate . . . making room for this.

For me, the big appeal is anything I (we) do that simplifies the process from "home to lake" and back, getting in the water quicker, means I'll use the kayak a bit more often. That's a good thing!
