Do you just chunk it up under there and bounce it off the bottom? Looking to try something different and wanted to start with jigs. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Type "How to Skip a Jig" into a good search engine,..BING is a good start.

The fronts of docks, the back of docks, skipping, pitching. All great ways to dissect a dock. Theyll hit it on the fall if theyre gonna eat it.

Bass are ambush predators. They hide by objects. Bounce your jig off of/next to areas they could possibly hide

Fish every angle on the dock and pay attention to how and when the fish eat it! I love fishing jigs around docks!

As said above, they usually hit it on the fall. Think: shade, cover, water depth, structure and wind direction. All docks are different. If it's sunny out, they are usually tighter to the cover (posts, ladder, boat, brush etc.) in the shade. Just get out there and disect them. Dock fishing sure is fun!

Make sure you change up the weight of the jig until you find the fall speed you want.

I'll let it sink to the bottom and drag it back over the brush or I'll swim it about a foot beneath the floats. I'll let the fish tell me how they want it

Mpack 1/2 oz flipping jig in mean green color with a green pumpkin rage craw. Cut the rage craw down to where the claws start at the bottom of the skirt.

I like a slight variation to the jig colors suggested above. Black/blue/purple, green pumpkin/orange or green pumpkin/purple, Peanut butter n jelly. I like the Zoom ultra vibe speed craw as a trailer. Those colors should get you bit but there are many good other jig colors out there. I am a tackle nut and have an bunch of other colors and I also custom make my own jig skirts.

I also do like Billy said when fishing under a dock. I will shorten it up a bit usually having the bend of the hook coming out of the head of the craw almost between the eyes. It is easier to pitch it under a dock when you have a compact jig and trailer.
