looking at ideas to give some more room for my tackle. how do you set yours up?

baits all in one compartment or do you spread them out into different compartments?

if you do is it easier if you separate by hard baits and soft plastics?

thanks guys!

funny this is being brought up today, I emptied the boat. then I set up a 8ft table in my office, emptied some of the boxes enough to fill up the table, and then put the empty boxes in the dishwasher. Gonna take a couple loads to get it all done. I guess Im bored. lol

All my plastic stays in their original bags. The keep better that way. Then I put all those bags in a big bin and keep it in the main storage in the boat. I keep all my bass stuff together, and all my crappie stuff together. I do however seperate baitcast in one rod box, spin cast in the other. 15 rods in each box.

Wish I could go fishin today.

I have one back back that I do some sewing on to make it attach to the front pedestal or the back of the sit down chair if I am fishing with someone else.

All baits are hanging in the shop. Hard baits are in plastic boxes. I will change out the baits in the back pack for each particular lake that I am going to. It takes about 10 mins. to get ready for a new lake just to restock plastics mostly and change out a few.

Everything is in there that I need and I never have to leave the deck to dig in compartments.
Pack holds:
- 4 med. size plastic boxes. - hooks/weights - crank baits - spinner baits - finesses.
- Top compartment loaded with packages of plastics.
- Side Comp. and loops hold: Scent - hook sharpener - Ext. Line - Sun Screen - Camera - Sun Glasses - Towel attached - Drink Holder attached - pliers - clippers - scissors

I had so much soft plastic and hard baits in different boxes in boat that I could never remember what I had or where it was located when I wanted to use them.

So I...

Removed all soft and hard plastics, jigs, etc. and their boxes from boat.
Hung 4x8 sheet of pegboard on garage wall.
Bought box of pegboard hangers off Amazon.
Sorted and categorized all hard and soft baits and hung them on pegboard hangers by type, size, etc.
Keep terminal tackle (hooks, weights, etc.) permanently in boxes in boat.

Now I look at the pegboard to see what I've got and select and load a "day box" or two of baits for each fishing trip.

THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLIES!!! really giving me some good ideas!!

with different compartments in yall's boats do you have a compartment specifically dedicated to soft plastics and another compartment strictly hard baits?

so far i have all my hard baits and terminal tackle in plano boxes and my soft plastics in the rubbermaid shoe boxes but i am running out of room in my "bait" compartment...

i looked into putting my plastics into another compartment - 2nd rod box and left all of my hard baits in the original middle compartment but i couldnt handle it... maybe it was my ocd...

for sure trying to get as many suggestions as possible.

im just not sold on having my baits spread out into other areas.

Use water proof plano boxes for all my hard baits and terminal tackle. Keep them all in the same compartment.

Use these garment laundry bags that you can get from Walmart for all the plastics.

bags

Use old hotel room keys... Punch a hole in the card... Clear tape something white like an old biz card or piece of paper so you can make it a label... Then sort and label each bag and zip tie it to the bag

I store all the plastics in the same compartment. Just throw in what you need for that trip... Super easy...

Someone posted a vid on TFF awhile back that showed the bags... Might still be on here somewhere... I've used this for a few years now and it's awesome...fast and easy... I also have a bag that pulls a mix of baits that I think I might use in a tourney for quick access...

PM me and I'll send pics if you are interested...

my hard baits are in a plano 3700 series boxes
