I'm looking for a good cranking rodnto throw some bigger baits. Is glass the way to go? Trying to keep it under $100.

Might ask in the bass fishing forum.

If you live in Central Texas the Cabelas in Buda has a bargain cave. I picked up a discontinued Cabelas XML 7' heavy normally $149 for $59 with another 15% off making it $50 last weekend. The bargain cave often has good buys on discontinued rods. I also recently picked up an H2O 7'10" Ethos Magnum $79 at Academy that I use for deep diving crankbaits.

I'd rather be fishing...

Diesel Glass crankbait rod. I got mine for 80 on TW. Paired it with a Lew's LFS I picked up off ebay for 79. The combo is surprisingly light. The fish ranger has them for 50, but I don't know if that site is legit or not. Their security token had expired when I was last on there.

Depends on size crankbaits you to want to toss.

Powell Diesel 7 ft Med-Hvy Glass 705CB rated for cranks up to 1/2 oz $80 Tacklewarehouse

Probably need stouter rod for DD22's, 8-10XD's, etc.
