I have owned a Ranger for 8 years, and it is time for a new larger boat. Decision is between a Phoenix or Skeeter. Skeeter is better equipped, Phoenix is more expensive and dealers are unwilling to deal much on them. That aside, would appreciate input from owners with pluses and minuses. Please just the facts. Quality of boat, ride, capacity of live well, fit and finish, etc. Please help as wanting to move forward but with care.

Don't know where you are located but Fun n Sun sells them both. Drive them both and decide. Phoenix seems to be getting a quick following for a new start up company. Time will tell if they stick around.

Is there a quality issue with Skeeter? Warranty issues with either?

I've owned several Skeeters and Rangers, but not a Phoenix. I would stay with Ranger if at all possible. They have always been the benchmark for boat comparisons!

I hear that, BUT the dealers are too proud of them...high prices and unwilling to deal. I have never ridden in a Skeeter, Phoenix fishes large, but a tough call, appreciate the feedback.

Bud of mine gets a new Phoenix every year. Could save you a lot and still have warranty. PM me if you want his contact info.

In my opinion... Skeeter and Ranger are the two best "fishing" platforms on the planet.

I'm Skeeter all the way, but I will admit the Phoenix are good looking boats.

I just swapped from Skeeter to Phoenix. They are both quality boats but I have to say I like my Phoenix better. My wife even commented about how much better ride the Phoenix has and I never knew she even noticed the ride. I suggest asking the dealer to take you to the lake for a test ride in both brands to help make your choice. It's a lot of money and you want to get it right.

My first 20 foot+ fiberglass job was Between Ranger and Skeeter in 1999. The Ranger dealer wasn't as enthusiastic as the Skeeter dealer, I've been a Skeeter man ever since. BTW both dealers were in Houston, both are out of business. The 20I is a very stable, rough water boat.Check out the FXI, its an FX top on a I class hull. That'll be my next boat. Best of Luck on your decision.

If I were doing one of the two I would do a Phoenix hands down.
