If that pipe discharge out there in the middle lake area is running that's where everything is hanging out eating shad. Have not fished there in years but that is how it once was. Caught stripers out there that were over 9lb. When the pipe shuts down the bite is over. The colder the water gets the better the pipe bite gets. Water goes high fish go high. New high water seems to scatter the fish high rather than being in herds. As time passes they ball up again. Good luck. I guess old news is better than no news or maybe not. welcome wwjd everyone likes new blood. I ware a PFD Onyx A/M 24 all day as not to drown in the name of fun. We that spend a lot of time on the water bass fishing fall out ever few years hitting stumps ect. Better safe than you know what. Live to fight another bass.

The discharge won't be working as the powerplant is no longer operational. The power plant shut down in (I think) 2004 or so.Several people catching Cats, Blues and Yellows. Haven't heard of much action for Bass or Crappie. Have not been any Stripers in many years either as far as I know. Dirt Dauber might know more about them and more fishing news. Seems all I do when I get down is work on the place.

Lake is 1.7 feet low. Power plant has been down multiple years and no longer produces the hot water at the discharge. No employees at the plant, just a maintenance crew that comes by on a nonscheduled basis.

Fishing has been poor to minimal good for scaley fish, no one seems to be able to find them; may be due to all the new vegetation which scattered them, but earlier in the year they had a golden algae kill in portions of the lake, so who knows how that affected the ones that survived.

Catfish are biting according to Vance Proctor/Stamford Marina, but not in great numbers.

Hope this helps,

O.K. Thank yall so much. My inlaws purchased a cabin there when the lake was extremely low. I have been able to catch bluecats and flatheads on trotlines and juglines. I have two young impatient boys who I would love to get on some crappie. I may have to put out some brushpiles. Thanks again. Im not going to give up on them. I would much rather my kids fish and hunt than play video games. I live about 180 miles from the lake so all help is definately appreciated.

Any kid fishing or hunting is a good thing. I was blessed that my Dad took me, and I have tried to do the same with my boys. Its a wonderful thing in my opinion.

I have fished the lake a lot and it is tough right now. But even when it was good you had to have brushpiles to catch any numbers of crappie the majority of time. If you have a dock I would brush the heck out of it. Vertical brush works best for crappie.
