The Predator 13 is a great platform. Does great on the river, and I've had it out in some wind and weather that I really shouldn't have been out in including some 3' plus waves that were rolling over the bow at times. I've never felt unstable or concerned in the Predator, at 34" wide it's rock solid. The seat is super comfortable and I've tried the Jackson 2.0 with lumbar, WS Ride Air Pro and the FeelFree Lure seats for comparison. I would say the Old Town seat and Jackson 2.0 are tied for first with the others falling in behind. Tons of room for gear, I frequently do overnight river trips and can easily fit everything I need inside the hull (and I don't pack light) while still having all my normal fishing gear in my crate along with a soft cooler in the tankwell. It's pretty easy to rig with the replaceable rigging plates and additional room on the rod pod in the center. I run a HB Helix5 SI for electronics with a no drill installation that allows me to remove everything and that's easily accomplished the way the Predator is laid out.

One con is that it does catch some wind, but many kayaks do. Another for me is that there is no factory solution to access hull space in the rear of the boat. Some people cut in a hatch back there and there is a space for it, but I'm not a huge fan of putting a lot of holes in my boat, so it's just a small issue for me.

This was my first true fishing kayak, so it's good for a first timer. I actually feel like the stability and comfort has decreased my learning curve because I'm able to stay on the water all day, and then do it again the next day.

There is a pretty active Predator owners FB page with a lot of great info on the Predator line of kayaks. Old Town Predator Owners FaceBook Page If you read through some of those posts you'll note that Old Town has some pretty incredible customer service, which was a big decision point for me. Lots of info on rigging and how people all over the country are using their Predators.

Yep, what Jason said. You can demo all these at Mariner Sails in one day if you give them some advance notice or catch one of their demo days. Give them a call, you won't be sorry.

The new big game IIs r very nice. So nice in fact I picked mine up after demoing at mariner sails In dallas.
The big game can and does handle rough open water well. Good for long river trips and or offshore fishing no complaints. I wouldnt fit comfy In a prowler 13 and the seats r night n day between them.
Nothing wrong with either really. The OK prowler 13s r fine for a man up to 6' 180#s. Past that, you start loosing performance IMO. If a dry n comfy high low reclining seat is important then, go with the Big Game II thumb

If you want to meet up some weekend you can take my Predator 13 out for a demo since I do not use it on weekends. I live in North Austin and normally fish Lake Pflugerville since it is close.
