Hello,

We have started a DFW chapter of the Bass-N-Badges club that is already going in East Texas. We are looking to have local tournaments this year 2015/2016 and meeting up with our sister club for a classic at the end of the season 2016. We will have our first meeting at Anglers Pro Tackle on November 8th at 1630 (430pm), thanks to Rick for letting us meet there!.
We will discuss upcoming tournaments as well as dates for the tournaments at the meeting. We are looking at fishing Grapevine Lake, Eagle Mountain, Lewisville and Worth or others if agreed upon. These may change depending on how many folks show up and join the club. I am looking for 8 boats to start the club and hopefully we can get allot more. The East Texas chapter has about 20 members with boats. This is going to be great club with a goal of having fun and of course fun competition. I have attached a flyer as well as a link to the DFW Bass-N-Badges facebook page which has our rules and such.
The tournaments will be run on a Team format and only one angler needs to be a current member in the boat. You can fish with your buddy or family member if you want or by yourself. Since we are just starting out and we will be working some kinks out, we will not a AOY until we are up and running. Either way it�s about having fun and enjoying the sport. We may copy the East Texas chapters tournament days and fish either Saturdays or Sundays as long as we have someone to run the scales on the second day. All tournaments will be a 100% payback. Are all the tourneys on the west and north side of the metroplex?

well brother, not sure yet. We will discuss that at the meeting. Looking for them to all be DFW related like: Grapevine, Lewisvile, Worth, Eagle Mountain, Joe Pool, Roberts and such.

I think the East Texas Chapter usually has their classic at Fork but with a bigger crowd next year that may change. This will be a "No Stress" club and I mean that! Going to have some good fun and trash talk but no stress. We have too much of that at work and need to decompress at the lake with family and friends.

Sounds very good but cannot make it to the meeting. One suggestion would be you are full-time, reserve, retired or volunteer peace officer, firefighter or EMS to fish. With the exception being if you fish with your spouse. I for one would not do it but there is a possibility if these are not spelled out, that someone could bring a "ringer" with them to fish because money is involved. And I may be wrong but there is a possibility.

well bassinfool, the rules are already set and can be discussed a the meeting and you do have to be a leo/fire/ems or retired from either to be a member, see the rules listed on facebook page. you can sponsor your partner who isn't and I would hope that one of the above mentioned wouldn't even think of doing that to his fellow club member, by boating a "ringer". this allows family or your buddy to fish with you and not just your spouse. again, this isn't going to be a FLW or BASS high level deal. the tournaments will be ran with the dignity and respect that all of us deserve and of course if you don't win, at least you know where the money is going. sorry you can make it, hope to see you at a tournament either way! be safe out there.

And I know this conflicts with some and their hunting trip but had to get this in and there just isn't enough weekends in the year anymore. this club will grow by word of mouth and good words spoken, not my ability to post r facebook it. please spred the word.

I'm also in but I'm on shift the 8th. I'm sure you will post the details that are hashed out at the meeting. Hopefully all the tourneys aren't on B shift.

We've held our "Classic" the past two years on Lake O' Pines. Matter of fact 2015's will be there this coming Saturday. I just thought Lake Fork would be a good halfway spot for the two chapters to get together someday.....

Keep me updated and can't wait till DFW's schedule comes out. I ain't skerrrrrd to come fish the "metro mess" with my brothers/sisters in blue....

OneFishAway, I am looking at doing a two day deal so that those that cant make the first day can do the second as long as I have someone to run the scales.

I may also have a meeting on the 5th at 1800 for those that cant make Sunday. ill post that update later if that will help. Call or email me if you wanna chat about it anyway.

once the club gets going we will update and vote on any changes needed to the rules and such.
