Yeah, it's good for us fisherman filling up but tough for those in oil and gas.
My buddy may have to sell his house, boat, etc - working in Midland area 30 and 60 days straight tough on the family

This is one of those topics that is no win situation. For people that work in the oil gas instrustry higher prices mean stability in their jobs, but for others it means choices, budget cuts, not being able to afford health care or medications.

Despite the prices at the current rate, the oil industry is still making money just not as lucrative. When the oil companies' cost to process a barrell of oil at $40 and make a profit but traded price for oil was $100, they enjoyed a huge profits. The enormous profits should have used to maintain company stability and not grossly inflate the board members and CEO bank accounts.

I have mixed emotions about low Gas prices. Yeah sure its nice to get more gasoline for the dollar. but with every nickel you save there are folks, Especially here in Texas that are suffering, not big oil.

Profit is not a dirty word!

Choose a more stable industry for your career or expect to have highs and lows.

I believe living within ones means is the answer, regardless of the situation. When times are good, save it for when times are bad, because cycles will happen, no matter the commodity.
