C'mon dude, you have to expect that about any kind of extravagance. Don't get offended. The reason people are reacting the way they are is because $1500 for a rain suit is hugely disproportionate to the "normal" cost of such a piece of gear. A $1500 pair of sunglasses, $1500 pair of shoes, a $1500 crankbait, a $1500 flashlight, etc., all of these would get a similar reaction because the vast majority of people who use such items do not typically need the absolute best money can buy. Not because they're "cheap" as you put it, but because it is outside the realm of reasonable for a lot of folks.
That said, I've spent more than that on a rifle that spends most of its life in a gun case. Maybe that makes me a hypocrite. It's all a matter of perspective.
As far as the OP is concerned, it's my opinion that if he spent any amount of time in a military issue rain suit, he more than deserves that Simms suit, and thank you for your service, sir.

Actually here is exactly what I said,

"Why is it the TFF way to gang up in a mob mentality against others because someone bought something you either cannot afford or you are too cheap to purchase"

So I didn't just say people were "cheap".

I was just expressing my opinion and do some research and you'll see I'm correct.

Thanks again to the OP for an honest and thorough user review of the Simms suit!

I'll bet there are plenty of anglers who think your Nitro boat is extravagant. Don't need that fancy thing to catch fish. Everything is relative, dude.

due to continued bickering, the price of a Pro Dry suit has magically increased 50%

Pro Dry FTW!!!

If you can't afford a set, too damn bad. Get a set of Frogg Toggs and freeze.

Thanks for the review.

I have used about every suit made, And the simms suit is the best made hands down.
What I really like about them is they are so light, And I dont feel back fatigue after a full day fishing.

But like others said Its not for everyone.

Wut? Since you used my post I've got to believe you're talking to me. I've known about Simms for years and still too rich for my blood. I don 't think my Cabelas Guide Wear is cheap but its the most I'm going to spend on rain gear. And the review was good for folks not familiar with the gear and was done well. And if I want to comment I sure as hell will thank you.

It isn't the forum it's just the way it is in today's time. Most people are not going to understand spending that much on a rain suit. It's the same way for all kinds of things available to us today. I always say you can spend as much money as you want on just about anything today. Just be prepared for others to think you're a bit crazy when you tell them how much it cost for whatever it is that floats your boat, especially on an open forum.

Do I really need two HDS 12 touches on my boat? Hell no! Am I the guy that get's laughed at when I only bring one fish to a weigh in if that but has huge graphs. Probably! Do I give a $&@)...??? What do you think...

Love the review and like seeing Simms making some noise in freshwater fishing. I just have to save up to buy the wife a Louis Vuitton before I can get a set. It isn't happening anytime soon lol

A 1000+ dollar purse... Now that is just $&@"-?: stupid... Try telling my wife that and I'll gladly take any volunteers. That's one path you DO NOT want to travel.

Simms makes rain gear from $249 to ~ $1,000/set. Before Uncle Sam.

Love my Cabella's Guidewear. Both sets. Though they're heavy. Both weigh pounds. Even the uninsulated GW. The Simms outer shell is ounces, waterproof, wind proof and leakproof. The insulated Simms gear weighs less than the uninsulated GW.

Thank your stars you have a choice. Otherwise, we'd all be wearing "Hefty's".
