I have only been on fork a couple of times and I know you have to follow the markers. I have always launched at the west side of 515 and ran the bridge out to the boat lane. I see on the maps there are lanes running into creeks like mustang and such. If I launch at Lake Fork Marina are there markers running from there out to the boat lane ? And / or can you ease along the bank somewhat to get to mustang and little mustang ? Or is it safer to go out to main lane and then come back in to mustang ? Thanks in advance.

If you launch at LFM they say there is a landmark on the far shore that you can line up on and run out to the boat lane. I would suggest taking it slow out to the boat lane and then run down to Mustang. Others may have better info for you.

If you aren't familiar with the lake then you can just idle over to Mustang. Beats trying to go on plane out to the boat lane. and there is some good fishing on the way. Or just put in at Pope's which is in Mustange.

Mustang is a good place to be anytime of the year. As said above, put in @ popes or another and already be there unless you are staying @ LFM or something. If so not that far to idle without going clear out into boat lane just to come back to the shore you were already on. Have fun!

You can read about Legend Cartography's Texas lake products here:

Great product for fishing. It built using Lowrance's AT5 Image Overlay mapping technology.

I can not reccommend this product for running Lake Fork. But I have used it to build extra trails on my Lowrance unit for running open field places only after verifying track is indeed OK. Fork has many open fields, but these fields have some tree-lines with some real widow makers.
