Green pumpkin has always been my go-to color on Athens.

Last weekend caught around 45 up to 4 pounds fishing the grassline towards the mouths of the creeks also caught some good ones on drop shot in around 25-30 feet. Oh and the colors I was using were green pumpkin around the grass and white ice Yamamoto shad shape worm on the drop shot

I keep it pretty simple on that lake. fish are Chasing shad this time of year so fish shad colors! But... there are some exceptions. If its cloudy, low light or dark. I fish Black or black and blue. if its partly cloudy to sunny out i fish shad colors this time of year.
Now with all Texas lakes Bass are eating Crawfish in the spring, Bluegill and other baitfish during and after the spawn all the way until fall hits then they will chase shad and then wait for the shad Kill off in the winter.
Athens can be a decently clear lake toward the damn. so i fish black or Black and blue in low light to dark, Natural Colors (Green Pumpkin with a little Red or Purple Flake) when its partly cloudy to sunny out. with the two only exceptions spring I fish Crawfish colors, in the fall I fish shad colors.

Lot's of colors being called out. On Athens just throw what you have confidence in. WAP pretty much hit the nail on the head,,,,, me personally, I fish: flukes in Mardi Gras worms in red shad or tequila sunrise if it real bright out I use a 7" Robo Worm in Morning Dawn w/ red flake if it is real dark I use a black w/ blue fleck anything right now throw a shad colored crankbait off the grassy points
