A buddy and I are going to do some fishing on the next couple of days. We will be from the bank, and might have a couple options. Would you guys prefer a wind blown point, or a place where a creek is running in to the lake? I don't know if we have access to both options right now, but if we do which would be your first choice?

Thanks,
Olen

If I could find that then I would be thee. Lol. I'll probably just throw my net at both places and see what produces more bait and start there.

Thanks,
Olen

Right in the current or an eddy.

+1, from the lake bank it means up in coves at the mouth of creek or river, wade out and cast as close as you can to the channel to catch big cats come and go during the day...

I fished wind blown bank yesterday, 12-15 mph wind, slow only had two good take downs, one was a hybrid that I lost at the rock, the other was an 8 lb blue, plus some channel cats... 3 hr fishing.... but only had frozen shad and no worms, couldn't find shad anywhere....

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Running water is always #1 if you can find it. If not BankAngler hit it on the head with what to target. Creeks are like under water highways and allow fish to travel from place to place. The difference in catching and going home empty can be a matter of a couple feet if you cant fish right in a channel if the fish are indeed using it.

We ended up at a wind blown point just because it's easy to access. Bait was easy to get and have lines in the water now. Already caught a decent hybrid, and hoping the catfish bite starts up soon.

Thanks,
Olen

We are at Benbrook out on the point at Mustang. Caught a few good water sized fish but nothing special. And a nice 5-6 pound drum that would be bait if shad were tough to come by.

Thanks,
Olen

Ended up catching quite a few eater sized fish. Nothing over about 4 pounds besides the drum. Fun night out, and will probably be back out there on Thursday night.

Thanks,
Olen
