The 1.5" cups make powder painting jig heads a breeze, small amount of paint in the cups expands quite a bit, without much over flow of the powder. The paint you see you the cups is from shaking while the powder was flowing.

Real nice looking jig heads [pictures on open crappie site], what ever you are doing just keep on. We need a keeper type hook and a 1/48 jig head. Will you be able to do by first of year?

Hi Larry, I will look into it, and thanks for your kind comments. As for the keeper, you are talking about the round jighead, with the keeper correct? Ron

NO, the keeper type is what we call the wire to hole it on. The lead type is ok if it is small but in the south they are to big and tear up the jigs.

Oops, you are talking about a 1/48 oz jighead that is round, and has the wire keeper on it.

Yes, for sure with plastics the fall rate is the big thing. Need as many as we can get. I think it is the same for tied jigs where a keeper is not needed. But one thing at a time. The odd ball size hooks and weights is the biggest and strongest market in Texas. Needs someone to fill it now days, as it been four years since anyone has tried.

I have been a jig maker for over 50 years and have seen most of what we fish with come on the market. I like the collar better than a keeper but don't use either one. The best way I have found is back from the head a little way wrap some thread for a small buildup. Then seal it with super glue and top and bottom let it all most drip for little more build up. Works better than what's out there. But this way is not 100%. Mr. Mays this is what you told me a couple of weeks ago. Looks like it didn't take you long to change your tune about the wire keepers. no, I still don't care for them, but have found that putting a small amount of clear cure goo on the end of them they are better than lead that is to big. What the deal is soft plastic can not be use as hard plastic and its a make do the best possible way.

A friend that is not a member here but reads it from time to time sent me this to post. They are using emery boards to cut the find edge off of the wire and it helps a good bit.

I clip mine to about half the height and they work better than anything I have used
