What is the easiest way to swap Minn Kota Maxxum trolling motors from the mount? I have two Minn Kota Maxxums and would like to be able to swap them quickly in case on goes down in a tournament. This happened last year before I got the spare and I switched mount and all out with a motorguide to make it through the rest of the day. With motorguide its easy you just loosen a knob. The Minn Kota looks much more complicated with the housing and spring.

there is two "pins" that hold the bowguard to the mount. One pin on the upper arm has two 1/2" nyloc nuts on the ends, one pin goes on the bottom and has a spring clip on the inside. Partially deploy the motor, remove the handle from the rope (It goes through the bowguard), then remove the two pins and the motor will fall off in your hands.
