Alright guys and gals I am going to repowering my 09 Ranger 520 and want any and all feedback on the sho vs the g2. Anybody with first hand knowledge would greatly be appreciated and welcomed. Thanks

now that mercury has the hub kits available to run mercury props on the G2's i wouldn't be afraid of them... if you like the looks of the g2? i've heard it is making good power. and the electrical bugs seem to have been figured out.

We have sold and have run both of these engines. I currently am running an Evinrude 225 HO G2 on a BassCat Caracl. This engine is the most powerful and has more torque than any other motor I have ever driven. It seems to sip fuel and oil. You can call me if you would like at 972-771-4442.

Yamaha SHO for sure. Evinrude in general doesn't have a good history
