Smaller topwaters and buzz baits: McCoy's Mean Green--this silicone/mono copoly is extremely buoyant--keeps the nose of the bait up, perfect for topwaters.

Bigger topwaters that cast very far and weedless topwaters: Power Pro Braid buoyant and no stretch is great on long casts and in vegetation.

Buzz baits-- mono.
Ribbit style frogs or hollow belly frogs-- braid.
Poppers and walking baits--braid with a short mono leader....The braid will float better than straight mono.. however the braid is bad to fowl in the hooks --thus a short mono leader.

Frogs and buzzbaits: Big Braid

I don't really throw spooks or popr's so I can't speak on other topwaters.

+1 on McCoys and Power Pro for baits just like he said.

Sunline Siglon Monofiliament

Not very many people have heard of this line but it is crazy good!!! It's a nylon line so it floats high and doesn't curl up. I use it for all kinds of topwater.
