Hey guys I have a few hundred cast lead 38cal. wadcutters that I am thinking about melting and pouring
into jigs. Will the lead in these bullets work ok? I have had these for over 20 years and the wax gas
checks just crumble off the bullets. I am thinking about melting and cleaning the lead, then pouring into
ingots first. What do you guys think?

Will work just fine. Lead with alloy added takes a little more temperature to pour smoothly.

Tots gonna smoke a lot with the wax, but it will work great.

thanks guys, the bullets worked great. they made 6 1 1/4 pound ingots. I am thinking somewhere
around 2000 1/16 oz. jigs.

Jerry, doing about as good as a guy my age can expect. I hope you are ok also. I have been asking everyone I see if they have seen or heard from you but no one seems to know where you disappeared to. Glad to see you are still tying. Maybe we can get together before too long.
