I got burned out on bass fishing in about 2002 or so and went to Cooper one day with a buddy and fished timber where we used to see folks pulling em in all the time and caught 30-40 keepers the first trip and been hooked ever since. Buddy told me I could be crappie fishing for $30! So the night before I went to Bass Pro and spent about $150 and the price tag has been climbing ever since! He has since sold his boat and just sits in the backyard and drinks whiskey and cooks on his big green egg but I'm still mad at them slabs!! Plus I'm from Louisiana and the whole catch and release thing with bass wasn't working for me. I'm not trained to throw perfectly good eating fish back in the lake!!

back to work!

The barge is gone with the construction of the new bridge, which, by the way , fishes just fine... Lots more pilings

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
