Hey guys if anyone is familiar with the foam inserts inside the Ascend FS12t . Well my dog got a hold of one of my inserts and made it into packing peanuts and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a replacement . It may not be necessary to add the support for standing on the desk but I prefer not to take chances . This is a still foam block that does not absorb water I have tried to find it at Home Depot and Lowes with no luck I'm going to try packing stores next but if anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it .

Would not the foam that you spray into cavities be the answer as it swells up and fills the space in question?

That foam holds water and will mold. The great stuff that is. You can find it in blocks online or contact accend for a factory replacement.

I don't know what you are talking about but I do know foam.
Can you take a picture or find one online so I can see it...I may be able to help if I can see it.

Try the factory. Look on their website and look for customer service.

If you were closer, I would give you a large block of styrofoam that you could carve what you need.

A lot of guys on the Ascend Facebook page recommend the blue and purple yoga blocks from Wal-Mart. I think they primarily put them where one's feet would be while standing. I haven't done this yet, but plan on trying them sometime soon.

Also, there is a plastic box that fits perfectly inside the hatch from Home Depot or somewhere like that. I also plan on getting one of these to glue into place so my stuff doesn't go hull surfing.

Open cell spray foam will absolutely absorb water and mold. If you used closed cell foam then it would work.

This is a very tall order. We need the best. Get me MacGruber.

I know this is an old thread but that is the beauty of the search function. I found a closed cell spray foam that I think I may use for this. I also lose stuff in my storage hatch plus I think the extra rigidity would make it easier to stand. Does anybody know of a reason I SHOULDN'T try this?

Your dealer should either have it in parts inventory or should be able to quickly order exactly what you need.

It will work fine, but you might want to protect most of the area you are injecting with a thin shield like Syran wrap etc. and just leave a small opening for the expanded foam to grab the surface. It is very very difficult to remove should you ever have a need to.

I have injected a similar product into a balloon in a confined space and it for fit perfectly when it expanded. I had to hold it in place with a dab of silicone after it completely cured , but it worked perfectly. It is quite capable of deforming the surfaces if you inject more than you really need, it is safest to do it in steps until you are positive about the expansion rate. Monitor your hull and deck shape while it is curing.

Good luck, Phill
