Since we have had a very large amount of rainfall over a small period of time the our old creeks have become new ones. Where are y'all catching them in the same spot as last year or further down (closer to the lake) the creek or further up the creek (further away from the lake)?

Reason I ask is because me and my brother decided to fish the creek late yesterday afternoon and another guy arrived at the same time we arrived and he caught 10 by him self compared to our whopping 2 keepers, we caught around 5 non keeps between me and my brother. However, he caught them further up the creek.

So my actual question will the crappie be further up the creek and down creek this year? The reason I went all the way down the creek is because that's were we caught limits and witness other people do the same.

I have not been fishing for a long time so I have no experience with floods and how they affect crappie or fishing in general but, I did observe that most of the structure is now gone or under water.

I don't mean to be trite, but it changes almost every year. Floods and droughts cause logjams and sandbars to move. That's why they say TOW - time on water. Just gotta keep going until you find the sweet spots. Some holes hold crappie year after year, unless there is major flood or drought.

Depending on how much water -your- creek has if they will be further up. Our creeks have been dry and silted in for so long, almost non-existent. You're right it has drastically changed this year. Good luck out there.

If your lake is full they will be found further up. I know on the creeks I fish, every year is different on where they tend to stack up. It all depends on depth, brush and shad location.

Same with the creek i fish. It different every year. Just gotta find them

Well see where I'm fishing there is a lot of shad activity so I assumed the crappie were in there but it turn out their further up the creek. Here is a factor to consider it was mid afternoon his side was mostly if not completely shaded and the part we were fishing was slightly shaded does that matter?

Im planning on going tomorrow morning but I'm not sure if I should start further up the creek since its morning time or further down
