Fishing in a 2 day tournament this weekend with 90-100% rain. Is it be better to throw dark baits as opposed to lighter colored baits? Thank in advance.

I fish a lot in the rain and have had great success with contrasting colors.
There are no rules though so try different shades and figure out what's working on that day.

I love fishing in rain. Throw your confidence baits.

No different than a cloudy day to the fish...they're already wet.

If the wind lays down I may fun-fish Texoma this weekend in the rain.

I've only done good once in the rain. Drop shotting. Good luck.

I have done real well using spinnerbaits and crankbaits in heavy/moderate rains partly I think because the bass might want something moving. If you are a line watcher it is kinda hard to watch something like a jig when the surface is getting pounded with rain... Although dragging a jig or C-rig might work.

With that said the bass don't always follow the text books and we have to sometimes get out of our comfort zones and experiment with different techniques/baits..

Good Luck

Find one of the many bridges on your tournament lake... Oh, wait, don't do that!

Orange spinner bait if it really gets bad. Go to the heaviest cove you can find on small flats in the last 1/3 of the creeks. Where the creek makes the bend is the best small point to fish.

Custom build it:
- 3/8 oz. Chart./Orange head
- Single Orange Indiana Blade
- Skirt in all the Halloween colors: Black/orange stripe, Brown and Orange in living rubber.
- I use the Stanley Pro Trailer which is discontinued in Tomato/Blue Flake.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Rain doesn't typically bother fish. I tend to think it gets them looking up, but I don't know if there is any truth to that. I love throwing loud topwaters when it's raining, like the buzzbait mentioned above.

I love fishing in the rain. My best days of fishing have been when it was wet out. I like to throw plastics in any shade of green, and squarebills, shad colored.

Nothing like a hard rain to clear out the community holes.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Hard rain washes your boat carpet.

Some of my most memorable days are of fishing in the rain just use what you have confidence in and adjust from there.
