Went fishing recently, top water action was good on Spooks and Yellow Magics.
I lost one Spook when a good'un sawed my line on a stickup.

Got me to looking....I was down to the last Yellow Magic in the box.
No prob, I'll pick up another at BPS when I go to replace the Spook....

Think again. They no longer carry the Magic. The guy in tackle tells me they can't get them.
There's another angler in there and he's headed to Toledo, he's looking for the Yellow Magic too.

Anybody know what the deal is?
I found the lures on the 'net with no problem. But why wouldn't BPS stock what could be the most popular Popper on the market today?

I don't know where you're located, but cabelas carries them in their stores.

The KVD Splash is almost as good for $7 less. I've been in a boat where we were each throwing one or the other and had the same results. It's all confidence.

Seems to me that more and more shelf space is being taken up at BPS by their in-house brands. Some of the XPS
stuff is good, some OK and some I don't like at all. They probably get a better mark-up with their in house
brands but its getting harder and harder to find MY favorites.

Tackle Warehouse is getting more of my business as a result.

Reeltexan, you need to head up to Angler's Pro Tackle. Best tackle shop in North Texas. They've got a great selection of Yellow Magics if that is what you're partial too! They are located in North Richland Hills.

All the bait shops at Fork carry them, not cheap but well worth it.

I guess my question was a bit murky.
I'm not looking for them, I bought them online after going to BPS. They're not too hard to find.

The question is: Why wouldn't BPS stock them?
They're supposed to be all about bass fishing, right?
Yellow Magics are known to be very good poppers.

I was hoping somebody with some inside scoop at BPS would weigh in or someone from the Distributor in Alba.
Just seems weird that they wouldn't carry the bait.

The bait selection there is never what I think it should be, but I'm sure they know better than I do. I'm surprised that they don't carry the Sebile hard baits. They seem to have almost every soft bait Berkley makes but not a single Sebile bait, at least not at the Katy location.

I know they can't stock everything, that'd break the mint. But they used to have Magics.
I think it's what kirbydog said. They want shelf space for their brand, more margin in it.
But like others here said, it forces us to go to other shops or online to buy tackle.

Then there's my nephew. Everytime he breaks off a crankbait he says "there goes eighty dollars"
He can't possibly get out of a tackle store with just one lure.
