Hi Fellow Anglers,

Took my dad today for some crappies. He's been itching for the thump all week. Got to the lake at 7:15am and on the water by 7:35am. First stop was at the pole about 300 yards from the ramp. Tied to the pole and I dropped my first minnow and bam! A very nice white crappie measured at a little over 13" and she's a fatty! Caught 5 white crappies in less than 15 minutes and Pop's caught one white crappie. And we continued on to our favorite Corp's piles and we caught several but it was unusually slow morning. By 11am we had 10 crappies in the ice box. However, by 1pm we ran into a jackpot! My graph lit up like popcorn on the brushpiles in 20 fow. Dropped the minnow it took it before I could take the slack off. What another amazing day. Dad was having a blast and we were pulling up crappies after crappies! By 4pm we were out of minnows and total keepers were 36 and 21 throwbacks. It was just an awesome day again! All fish caught with minnows and we didn't mess with the jigs.

Fished R/R during this same time frame. It was a great fall day to be on the lake. We found lots of bait fish and small crappie stacked up on COE brush piles. It was pretty much non stop action with smaller crappie, but we ended up with 11 keepers in the 11 - 13" size. Plum and Black/char jigs seemed to produce better than lighter colors.
